On Dec. 24, 1968, our nation was in strife. The war in Vietnam had divided and demoralized the nation; Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert Kennedy had been assassinated; and the Zodiac Killer was on the loose.
A nation in need of healing listened as the Apollo 8 astronauts, orbiting the moon, read the creation story from the Old Testament Book of Genesis during a Christmas Eve TV broadcast.
Astronaut Frank Borman, aboard the Apollo spacecraft, closed with a greeting to Americans:
“…And from the crew of Apollo 8, we close with good night, good luck, a Merry Christmas, and God bless all of you on the good earth.”
I have not forgotten everyone, I have been reading your comments, I have just been really busy….thank you for dropping by and leaving your thoughts. I just turned thirty-two Thursday. I feel the memory loss creeping in and I’ve lost small chunks of my life in memory. Mostly conversations.-Nicole
A piece of ertdouiin unlike any other!
Yes, it was discovered that a college student had written “It’s between you and God” but Mother Teresa had a copy hanging in her office for many years, so it was attributed to her until the discovery. This is a nice article though.
I have checked with Mother Theresa’s order and they say she did not write or speak “It’s between you and God. Just FYI.
Sue, that prayer is to be found on many different websites, always attributable to Mother Teresa. Here is just one of them. http://prayerfoundation.org/mother_teresa_do_it_anyway.htm
This is not about those three things it is about acknowledging to our fellow man that we know and follow Christ so we will acknowledge that he knows us..
